And so I came crawling back...

Mon Nov 2, 2009, 3:27 PM
...Again. I've not an addiction, but I could use a few opinions and suggestions. Besides, I do so enoy looking over my friends' submissions. I've been present, but not updating, and it's not likely to vary too much, but I do have a few things to put up, even if they are only studies, experiments and doodles. It's actually likely the majority will not see the light of day, whereas others will require you to lighten your screen. I've been trying different methods of shading, with pencil, ink, and watercolour, and have a veritable legion of projects and duties pattering about my screen and prodding me in the temple. Or, in the case of this fairy tale my darling partner and I are working on, slowly sizzling out my eyes and eroding the bones in my wrist as I colour the first main illustration. It's a lovely tale, so far. We're trying to get it done before Christmas.

But no more talk of Christmas. Hallowe'en (yes, I know no one uses the ' anymore, or even remembers it, but that's what I was taught, goshdarnit, and it freaks me out that no one remembers it) is over, good lordy me I had a lovely time. We spent most of the day decorating. I made a rather good scarecrow, as I do tend to do every year, my brother and partner filled disposable painter/cleaner/biohazard suits and set up their death scenes, and my partner had the brilliant idea of suspending a severed head from our roof, and rigging it so that it might be dropped at will and reeled back up to startle trick or treaters.

And the costumes were fun. My little brother was a card clown, all black and red and white, and the costume was -excellent-. Him and our mother did a great job. Also, when my partner and I took him trick or treating, we went as zombies, and I am quite proud of how the makeup turned out. His face was soundly gouged, his throat soundly sliced, probably by some git with a machete trying to play hero, and he very much enjoyed the brains of a severed head he found at a dollar store. I myself looked rather as though I had recently stood up at exactly the wrong moment and gotten the lesser part of a faceful of shrapnel, wore a distressed 30 Hour Famine T-shirt, and got to gnaw on a severed forearm for most of the evening. And then, we went home and scared the daylights out of various trick or treaters for a little bit. After that, we took a friend up on his invitation, showed up at his house, met a bunch of his other friends, played some video games, and generally nerded out until about three in the morning.

It was great.

School's doing well enough, the sciences are a great way to try and keep my brain going. I'm expecially enjoying biology, but that's hardly unexpected. I just realised, this is the first time I've written anything about my actual outside life in one of these journal things. Egads Allmighty, should this become a habit, I might give away my civillian identity! And then where would I be?

Probably, still colouring, writing, and doing homework.

Excellent news! I've been given a chance to shadow a professional at work! Not only that, but at various fields related to my interest!

Glee.

I'm hardly a scarecrow, anymore, it seems. That story's done, taken over by my own story teller. But I shall keep this name, at least here, as it is still an important part of my existance, and it would be silly to make a new account.

Cheers.

Oh, good golly, I'm sorry I haven't responded earlier. Of course. As of now, I'm going to have to put an edit in the author's comments that allows for its use in school projects...
Thank you so very much for asking, and I apologize again for lateness. Good luck with your project.

i guess it's just a habit of being polite.....there's so many people on the internet who arent, but people are much more likely to agree if you're nice to them....like flies and honey....
